Steps to reproduce

  • Turn on narrator
  • Set narrator to read paragraphs
  • Have following piece of html code:
    <label for="firstname">First name? </label>
    <input type="text" name="firstname" id="firstname"><br>
    Notice, question mark on the end of the text
  • Move narrator to read the input field. Following text is read: “First name comma”
  • It was observed, that comma is read in case lang is set for html element
    <html lang="en">

  • The narrator team acknowledge the issue, and said they would try to fix this by the end of the year. I’m going to close this bug as the Narrator team isn’t going to be providing updates here, but hopefully that is an issue that should be going away in the Windows builds from the “Autumn of 2018” update of Windows 10.
