Steps to reproduce

Microsoft Edge (Desktop) - Favicons of the favorites are not restored after using “Reset” button (Settings -> Apps & features -> Microsoft Edge -> Advanced options -> Reset). Only the star symbol is displayed. The star symbol will also not replaced by the favicon of the website at next loading. They will also not synced from other clients, were they are still visible. The favicon is only visible at the tabs. I can only bring back the favicon to my favorites, if I delete the favorite entry and add it again.

This problem seems to be since the reset function was added for Microsoft Edge at Apps & Features -> Advanced Options

So after using the reset button the favicons should be:

  • synced from other clients
  • if there are no other clients, the star symbol should be replaced by the favicon of the website at next loading

    • Hi, thanks for the bug report. This issue seems to be about the browser, and not the rendering engine. This site only tracks issue about the rendering engine. I see you did all the right things and filed an issue in the Feedback Hub. This is the correct way to report this problem. I’m going to close this issue as “External” because it belongs to another team which is not using this issue tracker. Thanks again, Francois.
