Steps to reproduce
Put the attached html file on a webserver and browse to it using Edge 16
Open Edge Developer Tools and select the Network tab (make sure network capture is enabled)
Click the Post button on the html page
In the Developer Tools window, this should have produced a request record resulting in a 404. Select this record, then select the Body tab on the right, then select Request Body and examine the posted value for TestInput.
Edge 14, 15, and all other tested browsers post a value of abcd plus one carriage return character and one linefeed character.
Edge 16 shows posts a value of abcd plus one linefeed character.
