Steps to reproduce

When entering password, or any other field after typing the 1st letter the cursor moves from the form box to the address search bar. This can happen when on the main page, or a second tab. It will happen on facebook when entering text in messenger, or any field on the page. This is especially disturbing since there is a known leak of text from the search bar. Why is it always defaulting to the search bar to enter text, no matter what page or field you typing on. Even if you highlight text in a field and try and type over it, it can pop up to the search bar again. So annoying and unsafe.

Comments and activity

  • Often the address bar will also get into a “flashing” loop as if it is trying to paste text there but site it preventing.

  • jpg example above shows when trying to search in the FB search box, text jumps to search bar

  • Highlighting text in a field on page, then hitting delete causes the flashing address bar.
