Microsoft Edge does not render PDF correctly

Steps to reproduce


Some bulletins (PDF’s) do not open correctly on this website with Microsoft Edge.
They will open but the text isn’t displayed correctly. It’s not like getting decoded properly or something. The text is all scrambled and stuff.
I can save them to the Desktop and they’ll open just fine with Adobe Reader.

Bulletin A (PDF opens and displayed properly):
Bulletin B (PDF opens but is improperly displayed):

I have tried opening these PDF’s in Google Chrome and they get decoded just fine.
I’m not sure if decoded is the right word btw lol
I have scanned the computer for malware and detected 0 objects.
I reset the Internet Options and clicked Clear in Microsoft Edge, still no dice.
I got the same results on other computers running Windows 10 with the latest OS updates, so I know the problem isn’t isolated to just one computer.
There are other bulletins (PDF’s) on that website that are(n’t) displayed properly. The PDF’s I listed above are just some examples.

System Information of the device where the problem was initially found:
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version: 1803
OS Build: 17134.137
Processor: Intel Pentium CPU G3250T @ 2.80 GHz
64-bit OS

Like I said, this issue occurs on other computers.

Either this is a Microsoft Edge issue or the website developers did not create the PDF’s correctly, idk.

I have attached a couple of screenshots that may be useful to you.

P.S. I’m a computer technician for a small business. This problem was encountered on a client’s computer. This problem is one of the reasons why they brought the computer in for repair.

  • I am also having the same issue. Is there an update?

  • The MICROSOFT EDGE TEAM has changed the Title from “Microsoft Edge does not render PDF correctly” to “Microsoft Edge does not render PDF correctly”. That is the only update. If Edge were a separate application we, who have the problem on our Windows 10 could, at least, try to update the application itself.
