Steps to reproduce

I don’t remember if this feature was effective before but I think the MS EDGE PDF viewer is quite new so it would be good to improve it taking account of Adobe functionnalitys.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Created a nice pdf in adobe acrobat pro
  2. Created links in the document with the Javascript action provided there :
  3. Saved, published on my website and opened in MS Edge 42

What is the expected behavior?
While reading the pdf file in there browser, I wish users can clic on links wich would open in a new tab.

What went wrong?
In MS Edge, links won’t open in a new tab as expected but in the same window as the original pdf.

The code given in the link above works perfectly in Firefox while none of the javascript links is working on Chrome ( + 1 for MS Edge ;)).

Thanks for your answer,

  • Hello, I’ve noticed new difficulties with Acrobat PDF functionnalities.

I made a test pdf file on my website to show you and i will add a Screenshot for you to see what is expected and working in Firefox.

Frames around links are configured in Acrobat and should be visible and clickable. But they aren’t in Egde TWINUI.

    Thanks for you support,

    Best regards

  • Edge PDF viewer does not support JavaScript actions. However, user can use CTRL+Click on a link to open it is new tab. We will also be adding support for a context menu over links inside PDFs soon.
