Steps to reproduce

  • Open F12 Network Trace (make sure it runs)
  • Browse to a site (e.g. bing.com)
  • Look at the network trace and observe duplicate requests. If no double requests, press F5

The request is sent twice to the server and this is very anoying when debugging in Visual Studio.

    Changed Status to “Not reproducible”

  • Hi Hannes - We are trying to reproduce the issue but using Windows 10 October 2018 Update I have not been able to see it.  Please let us know if you are still experiencing the issue on the latest version.  Thanks!

  • I am reproducing this in 42.17134.1.0, very annoying indeed.

    1. Open Edge, new tab
    2. Open devtools
    3. Clear browser cache
    4. Enable “Always refresh from server is enabled”
    5. Load http://example.com/
Observe two HTTP requests are done.

This issue is not always reproducible, but very, very often. Steps [3] and [4] are not mandatory; if you can’t repro, just try adding something to the URL, for example http://example.com/1234

  • I’m seeing the same thing. The second request is launched not long after the first, and is fired off before the first one completes.
The headers for the requests are different.

    Request 1:
    Accept: text/html, application/xhtml+xml, application/xml; q=0.9, /; q=0.8
    Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br
    Accept-Language: en-AU
    Cache-Control: max-age=0
    Cookie: … cookies here …
    Host: localhost:44353
    Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 1
    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.140 Safari/537.36 Edge/17.17134

    Request 2:
    Accept: /
    Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br
    Accept-Language: en-AU
    Host: localhost:44353
    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.140 Safari/537.36 Edge/17.17134

I’m not seeing this issue in either Chrome or Firefox

It doesn’t matter which site is used, it’s reproducible at bing.com as reported originally.
