Steps to reproduce

Dragging and dropping files into a webpage from File Explorer utilizing HTML5 drag and drop API events no longer works.

The version of Edge & W10 I’m using is:
Microsoft Edge 44.17763.1.0
Microsoft EdgeHTML 18.17763
W10 10.0.17763 Build 17763

Example site where drag and drop no longer works:

I have access to an older version of W10 with Edge 42 and dragging and dropping files works with the above links.

  • Hi Zachary, Thanks for reporting your feedback. We tested it on given URL’s. So I can able to upload files/images by drag and drop option. Could you please recheck the videos that you attached. we are not able to get those videos. We are happy to assist you.

  • I uploaded another video: Screen Recording 2018-08-11 at 19-13-22.mp4. Edge is the browser to the right. Chrome is the browser to the left. The video shows attempts to drag and drop .txt, .pdf, .docx, and .xlsx files. Edge shows a “not allowed” icon (circle with a diagonal line). Chrome works as expected.

  • Hi Zachary, Thanks for follow-up . We tested it. and I can able to upload files/images by drag and drop option. Could you please direct to http://support.microsoft.com and ask them to open a support incident to work with one of engineer to help them with this issue. It will help you to describe your issue.
