Steps to reproduce

We ran into an issue where, after the update to Internet Explorer 11.0.110 and above, they are no longer able to paste images copied from Microsoft Word into contentEditables/rich text editors while using IE11.

Please note that just copying a standalone image and pasting does work and it also doesn’t seem to be an issue on intranet sites. The images do not appear when trying to copy mixed content with both text and images and paste into the rich text editor using IE11.

It appears that the ability of JavaScript applications to access clipboard images pasted from Microsoft Word to IE is lost. The paste event the editor receives reports that there are no images on the clipboard.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Copy all of the contents from the attached word document(text and images).
  2. Paste the copied document contents, using Internet Explorer version 11.0.110 or above, into our clipboard test page (or any contentEditable):
    http://static.ephox.com/clipboard/clipboardtestms.html

Expected:
All the copied contents along with the images will appear and in the RAW HTML section, any <img src=""> elements will contain base64 encoded strings.

Actual:
The images are blank and the HTML image sources are filenames starting with file:///C:/Users/.
