Steps to reproduce

Aria-describedby should be able to define an element that is used to the represent the tooltip associated with another element.

  1. Turn on Narrator
  2. Navigate to http://www.oaa-accessibility.org/examplep/tooltip1/
  3. Tab to any of the input fields.

Expected Behavior:
The screen reader announces the label associated with the input, and then the content of the tooltip that describes the input.

Actual Behavior:
Screen reader reads: “Last name. Edit. End of line.”

The same website in NVDA/Chrome reads:
“Last name. Edit. Has autocomplete. Your last name is optional.” which contains the content of the tooltip.

Changed Assigned To to “Zachariah L.”

Changed Assigned To to “Melanie R.”

    • Removing the application role from the form (I’m not sure why it’s there) corrects the issue in Edge Chromium Version (Official build) dev (64-bit) + Narrator. It doesn’t seem to make a difference for “classic” Edge and Narrator.
