Steps to reproduce

Window.print() JS function doesn’t open the browser’s default print dialog box.

While this function works like a charm in other browsers.

There is a similar reported issue but says it’s been fixed but I believe its not.

    • Hi Zach,

I am using Microsoft Edge 44.17763.1.0 and I am still facing the same issue.

I have browsed to the w3schools link that you provided me, I used Microsoft edge and nothing happens when I click on the print button that calls window.print() function.

Whereas using the same w3schools link in chrome, clicking on the print button opens up the default print dialog box.

    • I tried the same example code for window.print() function on jsfiddle. Here is the reproduction of it -

The button calling window.print() function does nothing upon a click.

    • Hi Ali!

I tested the reproduction you sent me on the newest version of Microsoft Edge and the button pulled up the print menu properly. Do you have any extensions installed that could be effecting this?

    • Hello, we are still seeing an issue with window.print() in Edge using version 44.18362.1.0.
The issue is that the print preview window loads but there is an endless spinner seen in the print preview and no print content seen. Can you please advise?

    • Some additional info: if we pass content to a call first which happens to open in a new tab, it’s able to print fine with window.print().

The issue for us is that when only calling window.print() it is displaying the endless spinner.

Unfortunately for our use case we need to call window.print() alone because we want to grab the entire page.
