Repro Steps:

[IE 9 and below] Plugin to allow user to control font rendering

  1. Install AATIE plugin by downloading http://ice.hotmint.com/aatie/aatie-20110605.zip and run its executable files as an administrator.
  2. configure its configuration file located in the folder where you extracted the addon
  3. save the file and run IE.
  4. The edited configuration file should show the rendering results.
  5. IE9 can show this result while IE10 and later will not using this addon [limitation of the addon]

In Firefox you can enable userdefined settings under about:config \ gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled, gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading
