Steps to reproduce

Repro Steps:

  1. Launch IE 11

  2. Ensure Enhanced Protected Mode (either x86 or x64) is enabled by checking Gear Menu => Internet Options | Advanced Tab

  3. Navigate to http://scriptxsamples.meadroid.com

  4. On the setup tab, select “Using the latest test code” (or any option for v7.5.6 or later)

  5. Click the “basic” tab

  6. Click the sample title “Basic”

  7. When the notification bar appears, click install

  8. Nothing further will happen other than the page will recognise that the ActiveX Control is not available.

Expected Results:

The user should be prompted to allow installation via the authenticode dialog and the ActiveX control should be installed and be available to the web page – assuming that after install the control identifies itself as compatible with Enhanced Protected Mode.

Are there magic runes expected of cab files in the scenario? If so, please point us to the appropriate documentation.

Actual Results:

    • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. There are many other AX objects that installs and works fine in IE11 EPM. Based on the description, this is likely to be EPM compatibility problems in the AX itself. Currently, we do not plan to release a fix for this problem. Please update this case if you can provide new information for us to consider.

      Best Wishes,
      The MS Edge Team
