Is there any Fix for this issue?

  • I think still not way to resolve issue,

  • Can confirm this bug occurs for text-align:center as well as text-align:right. The caret is always at the left until characters are typed. I was going to file a bug but it appears it has already been noted.

  • Wait… what the ____?! this was filed like 2 years ago? what’s the status Microsoft? what happened to the “evergreen browser” Edge?

  • I added a simple test case exhibiting both bug variations.

  • @Microsoft - can we get a “confirmed” status on this bug report? surely this has been reviewed in the last 2 years.

  • What is a status of this ancient bug please?

  • I’m interested in this too!

  • Please update with a solution - currently we have to have to add onfocus and onblur event calls to clear the placeholder so that it will align left - but we shouldn’t have to do this on an element that should already behave correctly.
