Steps to reproduce

Repro Steps:

  1. open http://codepen.io/dudleystorey/pen/waMpEK
  2. hover over "MEN", see highlight
  3. move mouse to the right over lower half of “WOMAN”
  4. notice NO hover of this area is shown, instead “CHILDREN” is hovered after a certain point

    Both firefox and chrome don’t let the link hitbox and hover state overflow the parent element.

  • I think the issue is slightly different, see https://jsfiddle.net/ae1nyxty/4/

    The inner i elements DO overflow the parent a element hover area and prevent orange and red to hover properly. The green inner i element has pointer-events none but should work without like in FF/C

  • See especially the overlapping slightly paler area in red and orange, the the inner i elements overlap but just in Edge this prevents hover on a to work properly.
