Steps to reproduce

URL:

Repro Steps:

Basically you must to open Edge and in the very first textbox just write something like:

msconfig.exe what is

and you will get redirected to: http://msconfig.exe%20what%20is/ instead of do a bing search.

or you can try with

std::vector C# alternatives

and you will be advertised that launched protocol does not exist

BUT IF YOU TRY TO WRITE

“std::vector” C# alternatives

YOU WILL END WITH A FANCY BLACK 1,5" HEIGHT BLACK RIBBON IN THE TOP OF EDGE.

Expected Results:

The expected behaviour is to write any dot in search text regardless of Edge, and edge must try searches before redirecting to an irrational, unexisting domain, or keep it to launch protocols to open files…

Also the behavior of putting “cmd::vector” to bypass protocol launch… It’s interacting with app rendering… VERY WRONG…

Actual Results:

Dev Channel specific:

No
