Steps to reproduce
I see CSS3 filter support is marked as “Supported: Unprefixed version: Microsoft Edge build 10586+” at https://dev.windows.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/status/filters , and simple inline filters like grayscale() do work (as demonstrated in https://dev.windows.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/testdrive/demos/css3filters/ ), but SVG filters specified using url() don’t seem to work.
For example http://plnkr.co/edit/R9aRvwUjqwdM0Oo1juxv?p=preview should render the span as a filled red rectangle but instead just shows the unfiltered content (a black M).
Browsers that support SVG filter effects on HTML (Chrome, FF, etc) render the bounding rectangle of the span as a red box.
