Steps to reproduce

The application/json MIME type is not the only MIME type used for JSON content. The application/vnd.api+json MIME type, for example, is used by the JSON API. Edge does not support it, so JSON API content does not render in the browser - instead, the browser thinks it’s a binary format and tries to download it.
Also, as it is not supported, error pages that are returned in the JSON API format do not show up.

Changed Assigned To to “Venkat K.”

    • This is the same for application/vnd.collection+json, application/hal+json, etc. Now that +json has been standardized (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6839#section-3.1) it would be great if Edge could render the JSON content for all media types that contain the +json suffix.
