Steps to reproduce

Windows 10 using Internet Explorer 11 (Version: 11.162.10586.0, Update Versions: 11.0.29)
showModelessDialog() (Silverlight does NOT work)
showModalDialog() (Silverlight DOES work)
Windows 7 using Internet Explorer 11 (Version: 11.0.9600.18230, Update Versions: 11.0.29)
showModelessDialog() (Silverlight DOES work)
showModalDialog() (Silverlight DOES work)

    • I had opened this on http://connect.microsoft.com and Brad from the MS Edge team responded closing the ticket as not repro, and stated that Showmodless dialog works as expected. I am just looking for some more clarification.

      We have an app that is built on Silverlight that depends on this feature. Is Microsoft’s stance that we will need to rebuild our entire app to work in a Windows 10 environment?

      We are not working on IE  feature bugs any longer unless they are security related. When I tested that specific function you provided it did work as I had expected(I ran it in the console). Regardless of whether that works or not - we are not addressing IE feature bugs any longer through this portal (unless security related).
