Steps to reproduce

Go to, make browser window as narrow as possible and then quickly resize it to maximum width. Momentarily there is a delay in the display of the site at full width - see attached image.

  • Thank you for filing this bug. I’ve looked into it and it looks like there are three things happening:

    1. The page is clearing and rebuilding part of the DOM on every window.onresize. This could be significantly optimized, to only rebuild from blank where necessary. To address this specific issue, the most effective strategy would be to optimize the checkResize() function within the page. However, this bug is helpful to the Edge engineering team for the next two reasons:
    1. The clear and rebuild is slower than Chrome. I’m going to create a bug on the DOM team to investigate optimizations here
    1. The site’s script appears to be blocking to app frame from redrawing, which doesn’t seem like it should happen. I’m going to file a separate bug on the Edge App team to investigate this.
