Steps to reproduce

This is the story of IE 11 on Windows 10(build 14332), IE 11 does not show any prompt when I use window.clipboardData.setData even though the settings in
“Allow Programmatic clipboard access” is "prompt".

The test page is:

If I change the settings in “Allow Programmatic clipboard access” from the default value of “prompt” to "enabled", it works. But if I change the settings back to "prompt", IE does not show a prompt but clipboard copying fails silently.

      Thank you for your feedback on IE. Unfortunately we are no longer working on feature bugs any longer for IE unless they are security related.

      Additionally, clipboardData is considered deprecated and we recommend that you use the clipboard API instead. This option has much more cross browser support than the method you have chose. Please keep in mind that there are security limitations on both of these and I would recommend using a link such as the one below to best understand these hindrances:
