Steps to reproduce
The following JS Bin example contains a single line of text within a DIV, in Archivo Narrow font, with
font-feature-settings: 'kern' 1 enabled:
The characters chosen include kerning pairs.
In IE 11, if you have the above JS Bin open in one tab, and have a different page open in a second tab, when you switch from the second tab to the first, you can see the font render briefly without kerning (wider), before the rendering corrects itself (narrower), and kerning is applied.
If you then select the text using the mouse, the text will immediately render without kerning again (wider).
In the F12 DOM Explorer, toggling the kerning style on and off does NOT cause the text to re-render with the appropriate style.
This instability does not occur in other browsers, including Edge.

Thanks for filing this issue. Unfortunately, bug fixes for IE11 are only being considered for security fixes and other severe issues impacting our business partners. Since this has been addressed in Microsoft Edge, I’m going to resolve this as Won’t Fix.
