F12 - Dom Explorer broken if NVDA is running

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open F12 DOM Explorer on any website support aria-** tags
    (e.g. https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/)
    1.1 check that "aria-label", “id” are readable from DOM Explorer
  2. Install and run NVDA from http://www.nvaccess.org/ (version 2016.2.1)
    2.1. Ctrl+F5 re-load the page
    2.2 check that "aria-label", “id” are BLANK from DOM Explorer
  3. close NVDA (hotkey Insert+Q)
    3.1. Ctrl+F5 re-load the page
    3.1 check that "aria-label", “id” are readable from DOM Explorer again

  • I am not able to repro this in the current stable build of Edge (10586). Is this the same version that the screenshot you have provided shows?

  • I cannot reproduce it in Edge (10586) neither.

    Still able to reproduce in IE11 (Version: 11.494.10586, Update Versions 11.0.33 KB3170106) And the screenshot was capture from IE11 (you can see it form header)

    BTW, there are two much different of NVDA support in IE&Edge, even more different then IE vs Chrome. e.g. it is easy to very read outside a modal dialog in edge, but I believe these problems are NVDA issues, not the dev tools

  • Are you able to provide this information to NVDA? We aren’t working on IE feature bugs any longer unless they are security related, unfortunately.
