Persistent extension backgound is not loaded after browser restart

Steps to reproduce

  1. Load the test extension attached. Allow it to show the icon in the toolbar. The icon should be green.
  2. Restart the browser.
  3. Re-enable the extension using the “extensions” menu or press the “Turn on anyway” button on the bottom of the browser window.

Expected: the extension background should be loaded and should make the icon in the toolbar green.

Actual: the extension background is not loaded. The icon in the toolbar has the default color (red).

  • Thank you for your
    feedback. We have been unsuccessful reproducing this issue on later builds of MS Edge. We specifically tested on 14.14877 and were not able to repro any longer.  As a result of this testing we have performed the item has been resolved as not repro.  If you are seeing different results in a higher build number, please feel free to reactivate this item of feedback at your earliest convenience.

    The bug should be fixed in an upcoming version. We hope to hear more feedback from you in the future
