popup.html target="_blank" links problem in extensions

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new extensión with a popup.html
  2. Write hyperlinks into the popup.html file with attribute target="_blank"
  3. Load the extensión in Microsoft Edge
  4. Touch in the browser bar icon for the extensión
  5. Click on the target="_blank" link. Nothing happens.

    • I got the same think.

      I have a web page that has multiples links to download files with _blank target. The Edge browser is alone to have this problem. All others browsers, including IE, work normally.

    • @Marco F. - Keep in mind that i’m talking about extensións popup, not about webpages. target="_blank" in webpages is working for me.

    • This should be fixed in the public anniversary update that was released (build: 14393.10).  Can you double check that this is true and update us please?

      It would be most helpful if you could provide the exact extension that you are creating as well that you can see this with.
