Steps to reproduce

After installing the security updates from 7/13/16 Microsoft Edge will not shutdown completely. After hitting the close button the screen goes blank and cursor goes away. The only way to get rid of it is to go into the task manager and end the task. Can I just delete the updates from 7/13?

    • Additional information, when starting edge I noticed the screen flashing a number of times in what looks like starting multiple sessions. Also what doing a force shutdown from the task manager the screen flashes briefly in what looks like multiple background screens being shutdown.

    • Hello,

Please note that this website is used to provide feedback and bug reports on Microsoft Edge and is not intended as a way to provide support for Microsoft products.

With that being said, yes you should be able to remove the installed updates by selecting “View update history” on the updates window in Windows 10.  From there you will see text that says "Uninstall updates".

      Hope this helps.

      All the best,
      The MS Edge Team
