Steps to reproduce
If the browser is open as the store does an update for an extension, there is a chance the extensions data will corrupt.
This was just replicated with the latest RES update that got pushed to the store, if you update with browser open and restart the browser the data is corrupted and all settings are lost.
This has also happened with adblock loosing its settings as its updated with the browser open.

This was a known issue that was fixed recently. Going forward you should not experience this issue. If you do, please feel free to let us know.
We will close it out as not repro since I have not seen this in my testing, though it was a known issue. We do not have a status that quite matches (I’d rather not mark it as Fixed unless I can confirm for sure) better.

I had two extensions installed. Norton Identity Safe and Microsoft Rewards. Both extensions ended up corrupted. I uninstalled both extensions. I did an install for Norton Identity Safe and a box opens that says it was installed while the store says it failed. I have tried to re-install the extension with the same results. It does not show up in my extension window pain.
