Steps to reproduce

URL:

Repro Steps:

  1. Load the attached file
  2. Click on the scroll bar about 1\4 from the bottom of the bar
    • IE will start to scroll but IE will have little pauses (250-500ms)
  3. Do the same test in Chrome
    • Chrome is smooth and dooesn’t show the pauses

Load the benchmark page “test-table-scroll-static.html” attached below, scroll one of the two displayed tables on the page.

Compare the scrolling user experience with other browsers mentioned above.

Expected Results:

When dragging a scroll bar of a div in a page with the structure described above, the user should experience a smooth scrolling of the table content.

With IE 11, the frame rate during scrolling degrades 1-3 frames per second, caused by a single rendering step during scrolling takes 500ms up to more than a second.

The very same page renders well in recent FireFox, Crome, Opera and Safari browsers. Even IE 11 in IE 7 emulation mode allows smooth scrolling.
