Steps to reproduce

Why did Microsoft find it necessary to prevent GPO from applying a default lock screen image in build 1607. I am an IT director for a medical practice that manages over 200 pc’s I would prefer to be able to set a default lock screen image so that uses cannot make each pc look unprofessional with personal photos. This is beyond ridiculous. Ok prevent the lock screen from being disabled but preventing the image from being defaulted unacceptable Microsoft.

    • Thank you for your feedback. We can successfully apply this settings and force setting up background image for lock screen through policy settings. Could you please let us know which settings you have configured? Also could you please confirm that GPO settings are successfully applied to your machines. (I would suggest testing different policy settings to see if it applied and works properly) If you see this issue with only “Force a specific default lock screen and logon image” and “Prevent changing lock screen and logon image” please keep us posted, we will be happy to assist you.

      All the best,
