  1. Web server responses cookie to browser’s tab.

browser can ofcourse eat this cookie.
But, Edge extension cannot read this cookie.

We want to run Microsoft Edge is share cookie scope tab and extension.

Chrome and Fire fox have no problem.
They shared same cookie between browser tabs and extension.

    • Same problem here, this breaks our authentication and makes it harder to develop on edge.

    • We recently ported our chrome extension to edge and noted this issue as we are using shared cookies / session between tabs and the extension for user authentications. This is working fine in Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Please share any available workaround and any ETA for a fix.

    • What does External mean??

I want MS Edge to share cookie between extension and tabs.
Chrome and firefox share cookie between extension and tabs.

    • We are experiencing the same problem and we have paused edge extension development because of this.

    • Thank you for the feedback!

As you have noticed, In the anniversary update edge extensions and a tab navigated to internet site do not share the same cookie container. However we are working on solution for this and to make this scenario interoperable for a future release.

      Thank you!

      All the best,
      The MS Edge Team

    • Any updates for this issue?

    • Is the issue fixed in ver 40.15063?

    • Fix version?

    • Yeah it’s fixed since version 40 / creators update

    • The problem is still reproduced if you authenticate in a web app BEFORE you install an extension. Cookies start to share only after browser restart.

      Edge 40.15063.0.0
