Steps to reproduce

As in other browsers we can control, with browser prefixes, the appearance of the input with the following pseudo-element.

input[type=color]::-webkit-color-swatch
input[type=color]::-webkit-color-swatch-wrapper
input[type=color]::-moz-color-swatch
input[type=color]::-moz-focus-inner

Still, there is no way to do the same in Edge.

    • Thank you for the report. We’re constantly reiterating the designs and implementation of platform control that try to balance matching platform look and feel and developer extensibility. While I agree with you that it would be nice to have a good styling mechanism for styling basic inputs like color, currently we don’t have good model in place - which might change in the future.
