Edge Locks Up

Steps to reproduce

I have been using Edge for about 6 to 8 months. Within the last couple of days, once I open Edge and go to a web site, then close it down, the screen remains up on the initial Edge screen and it cannot be used again. You also are stuck on that screen and can not click out of it. If you do a restart it will let you use it once again to search out one site and then your stuck all over again. I don’t want to go back to Windows 7 Home Edition but may have to if you can’t come up with a solution.

    • Here is the information you requested on my winver –

      Ver 1511(OS Build 10586.545) 2015

      I think you misunderstand my problem. There is no particular URL that is causing this problem. If I restart my computer, then I can go to any URL the very first time I try. But, when I try to close whatever window I am on it leaves with the screen that I have attached to this email. Then I can not close down that screen and I can not open any other screen. I have to restart my PC again to get to any new URL and then it is the same thing all over again. It’s very frustrating. The only way I can use my PC is to use your competitor’s browser – IE: Chrome

      Let’s get this fixed please.

We are actively working on MS Edge to improve the quality of our product and provide better user experience to our customers. It appears to be you are using an older version of MS Edge, which the issue you are reporting may or may not fixed already in the latest version of MS Edge. To be able to work on this issue we need you to verify this issue on the latest update which is 14393.105 (August 31) Please keep us posted about your result we will be happy to assist you.
