MS Account page claims Edge is blocking cookies when it is not

Steps to reproduce

  • Go to Microsoft account management page, Add Payment Options

  • Choose add credit card (I have United Kingdom chosen as country, if it matters)

The website will report

The browser is currently set to block cookies. Please configure the browser to allow cookies before retrying.”

even if no cookie blocking is turned on. Works ok in Firefox 48.

    • We are having difficulties reproducing this issue. Could you please confirm your Edge version (such as Microsoft Edge 38.14393.82.0) and also please attach a screenshot with your error message page. In the meantime please make sure you selected the “Don’t block cookies” under advanced settings. You can also provide us your network trace this will also help our investigation.

      Collecting a network trace using the F12 developer tools please do the following
      NOTE: Please do not visit any sites that contain personal or sensitive data such as passwords or financial data while collecting the trace. 

      1. Launch MS Edge
      2. Press F12 to open the developer tools
      3. Locate the network tab and click the start capturing button or the green play button in Windows 10.
      4. Load the URL and reproduce the issue.
      5. Stop and save the network capture
      6. Please attach the capture to connect.

    • I was used the Win 10 AU version of Edge. However, it seems that now I cannot reproduce this either. It was possibly a path dependent bug that doesn’t appear on fresh reboot. If I see it again, I will take a trace.
