Steps to reproduce

For some reason, navigation using the “Up Arrow” key becomes impossible in specific cases.

A.1 Create an Html file of the following structure:

<body contenteditable="true">
foo<br><br>bar
</body>

A.2 Open the file in the Edge browser
A.3 Set the caret at the end of the “bar” word
A.4 Move the caret to the top line using the “Up Arrow” key.
An example is here.

B.1 Create an Html file of the following structure:

<textarea rows="10"></textarea>

B.2 Open the file in the Edge browser
B.3 Write any multline text in the TextArea
B.4 Press the “Left Arrow” key, and then move the caret to the first line using the “Up Arrow” key.
An example is here.

It is possible to reproduce the problem even in your bug tracker if there are empty lines in the TextArea.

Expected results
The caret is moved to the previous line.

Actual results
Pressing the “Up Arrow” key moves the caret to the beginning of the line.

    • I’ve been testing out this sample and it looks to be fixed in later builds. I am basing this off of the fact that this seems to be reported on the 10586 build. The current public stable is 14393 and I tested with 14911.

      I would recommend upgrading your build and then testing once more. Please feel free to reactivate if you still see this as an active issue after you upgrading.

      Best regards,
      The MS Edge Team

    • Hi!
      I updated an Edge browser (Microsoft Edge 38.14393.0.0, Microsoft EdgeHTML 14.14393), a problem no longer reproduced. Thank you!
