Steps to reproduce

I tried to add a transition when changing a background-image or background.
transition : background-image 1s ease-in-out;

It only work in Chrome, but I think it’s a great feature to support.

Thank you

    • Has this really not been addressed?

      Is there any other way to transition backgrounds without using Javascript?

      Trying to come up with ways to do this that don’t hammer the processors of the visitors’ devices, and the CSS animation is the only way I’ve seen that keeps the load down.

      This looks as though it’s been dead for two years. Any hope of a revival?
