Steps to reproduce

Each time the microphone is accessed via getusermedia, the user is asked to give permissions.
We are providing speech recognition functionality in the browser, where users can navigate through pages on a site using voice.
Currently, it is not possible in Edge to have a user give microphone access permissions permanently to a page, an entire site or a set of pages on a site. This makes functionality as described above essentially unusable.
Note that both Chrome and FF allow users to give persistent microphone access.

    • Thank you so much for reporting the issue to us!

This is a known limitation in our implementation at this point.  We have a coding task already in the current product cycle to implement support to the persistent permission for getusermedia calls from https origins.  We are resolving the issue as a duplicate to the internal coding task, and will provide update when we have the fix ready (and to close the issue).
