Well too bad that these folks marked this bug as Not reproducible with so many instances of it… I keep opening tabs to clear them out all the time.

I have the same issue here. However, once it is active, it seems that the grey bar is present on all my opened tabs. Then, when I close the tab, the bar “may” disappear.

I am able to reproduce for example just by creating a 4th tab to go to LinkedIn.com. The first time I have a grey bar. I close the tab, the grey bar may disappears in all tabs (or not). Then the second time I go to LinkedIn.com the bar does not appear or disappears if it was there. I did it a few times in a row…

Same problem - The large grey bar appeared on the top of Edge. It is more than annoying and I am ready to switch to another browser unless there is a solution.

Please fix this "Gray Bar " issue in Edge. I used Edge for the longest time until one of the updates , I think it was the last big one caused it to appear. I now use Google Chrome.

Has the Gray Bar issue been resolved? Most annoying!

This problem just started today. Beyond annoying. Is there anyway to get rid of the gray bar?

The gray bar has disappeared from my screen. It is just gone. Thank you, Microsoft, if you have fixed it!

Same issue just happened on my system this morning So whatever this bug is it’s not “fixed” I’m thoroughly patched and up tp date. Tried reboot that didn’t clear it and based on this thread doesn’t look like Microsoft has a clue

OHH I found it . Next to the + in header you get an up or down arrow V that controls whether the “preview” of a age appears in that dead space . Click on arrow and the “grey bar” area goes away .

Couldnt find the + in the header (as mentioned in the above) but I will say this problem is persistent and repeatable. The whole Word - Excel - Office integration is absolutely buggy as hell in Windows 10…very disappointing.

I also have repetitively and seemingly randomly, the persistant grey bar which I am unable to remove.

I have the exact same problem and cannot get rid of the wide grey bar at the top regardless as to whether opening a new tab or not.

I just had the same problem crop up on my browser. The appearance is identical to the original poster’s screenshot, and it happened when I opened a second tab. Further tabs opened kept the grey blank space, and switching to the original tab caused it to show up there as well. I had to close Edge completely and reopen it to get the grey space to go away.
For what it’s worth, my computer has been on for two days straight with Edge open the whole time. I’ve found that seems to cause weird issues to crop up in Edge sometimes, like being unable to open a link in a new tab or properly duplicate the active tab.

Thank you to van j. Jul 25, 2017 . The + used to add a new window has a
up arrow or a down arrow to the right of it. I clicked the up arrow and the massive toolbar went away. On my computer it was hard to see in the dark theme that I have chosen. but that fixed it for me.
