Steps to reproduce

Bookmarks copied from Chrome has Folders on Bookmark bar

  1. select folder - menu opens
  2. right click on menu line - nothing happens
    unable to open item in new tab when selected from a folder on the bookmarks bar

  • May I ask the version of Edge that you are seeing this in please? We have provided a few new features for bookmarks over the past few releases. Having this information would help me know what to look for compared to the latest builds.

    Attachment FavoritesBar.jpg shows Favorites bar as imported from Chrome. Items in a folder on the Favorites bar do not respond to right click, no context menu, consequently only option is to open in the current tab.

  • Thanks for the extra info. I tried these same steps on a laptop that is running Insider fast - build 14951.1000 and I am able to open items in a new tab on imported bookmarks from Chrome.

    I’ll resolve this as not repro rather than fixed because this was likely done on purpose since we are slowly adding more features with every build - especially when it comes to bookmarks / favorites.

    14951 is just one build that is part of RS2 - If you see this after RS2 ships (or any build higher than 14951) please reactivate this item at that time.
