Steps to reproduce

Open the attached page in Edge. After a second the text will show up (as expected), most of the time the text field following it will remain invisible however. Given that both are children of the same block which was made visible via element.hidden = false this is quite unexpected. document.querySelector("input").hidden shows that the field isn’t hidden, yet only setting this property to true and back to false makes the text field appear.

For reference, the code is:

<div id="hiddenDiv" hidden>
  There should be a text field behind this text.
  <input>
</div>

<script>
  setTimeout(() =>
  {
    document.getElementById("hiddenDiv").hidden = false;
  }, 1000);
</script>

  • Quite an interesting bug that your found here in 14393. However, in testing it on our insider fast builds it looks like it has been fixed already.

    I refreshed the page quite frequently (programmatically) and it never once repro’d.  I am going to say that it is fixed - but if you happen to ever see it in anything higher than 14955 (current Insider Fast build) please let us know.

    All the best,
    The MS Edge Team
