IE11 - it is not possible to type Japanese two-byte characters in 'div' aligned to left which is inside contenteditable element

Steps to reproduce

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the attached ‘issue.html’ file in Internet Explorer 11
  2. Click inside a 'div’� element (green one) and set language to Japanese Hiragana
  3. Once the language is changed and focus is inside the 'div’, try typing ‘eeeeeee’ on the keyboard.

Actual Results:
Focus is moved out of the ‘div’ element. Only first Japanese symbol is placed into the ‘div’ element, the other symbols are placed to the parent element.
Please take a look at the attached 'issue.png’.

Expected Results:
It should be possible to type Japanese characters inside ‘div’ aligned to the ‘left’ which is located inside an element with attribute contenteditable=’true’.

We are presently tracking this issue as a duplicate of an existing internal bug report. Once it is fixed, we will determine if the solution can be applied to IE11.
