Steps to reproduce

I noticed that if I have an input box set to read only and then remove the read only attribute via vanilla JS, I need to double click the text box for it to be able to accept input. The browser is registering the keys but they are not being added to the text box.
The HTML page is removing the read only attribute from the textbox but, again, does not allow input.
I tested this through IE emulation on Edge and IE 10 and 9, same issue.

Attached are the HTML and JS files I used to test this bug.
To reproduce, open dev console, click on a textbox and try to type. Notice that the attribute changed from read only to nothing but will still not allow input.

This error does not occur in Chrome or Firefox .
