Steps to reproduce

When focusing on an input/textarea that has its text centered and has a placeholder, the caret is not centerd. But when we start typing the text is correctly centered.
This behavior is specific to Edge, the caret is correctly centered in all the other browsers.
We can easilly reproduce the bug here:

    • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We are presently tracking this issue as a duplicate of an existing internal bug report. We look forward to additional feedback you may have on how we can improve Microsoft Edge.

      Best Wishes,
      The MS Edge Team

    • The issue is the same if text-align is right. If text-align right firefox and chrome put the caret on the right. Edge places it on the left. This is regardless of the size of the placeholder. Hopefully its part of the same internal bug report.
