Steps to reproduce

It’s impossible to select a date earlier than 1st January 1916 using the Edge datepicker.

Even getting to 1916 requires about five minutes of scrolling which usually ends up crashing the browser.

Did anyone even test this?

    • Thank you for your feedback. You can use min and max attributes to customize your date picker such as demonstrated in here : http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml5_input_max_min

Also as a workaround you can use page up and down keys to move quickly on year section as a solution to your scrolling issue. In the meantime we will look into that.

      Best regards,

    • Ibrahim,

Arrow keys only work for the day. Not the year, or month.

Imagine being an arthritic pensioner trying to scroll to your birth year. You need to make it possible to type in a date, or to quickly change the year in some other way.

The min attribute does allow you to enter earlier dates, but adding extra markup as a workaround for one browser is not an acceptable solution.

      Changed Status to “External”

    • Hi. We have a deliverable tracking the work necessary to update our input(date) control. I duped this issue to that deliverable.

    • }This issue has been resolved External. This means this issue may require a new feature to be implemented or other work that is more significant than a typical bug. You may be able to find more information on this issue by searching for related features on status.microsoftedge.com and uservoice.microsoftedge.com.

    • It goes back further than 1916 now. I think this issue can be closed.
