Integrate electronic health record data using FHIR in Microsoft Teams

Office Add-ins team

Today we announced several new partners who are creating solutions for interoperability with electronic health record data and Microsoft Teams. These partners are leveraging a solution we announced in private preview at Ignite 2018. We are highlighting these partners today in anticipation for HIMSS19. Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams specifically, continue to make new investments in capabilities to the platform which increases its industry relevance for customers and partners.

As customers and partners in the healthcare industry know, enabling the interoperability of the electronic health data is a top priority. Microsoft is already embracing open standards like FHIR and with this private preview first party solution, we are creating ways for customers, partners and developers to view their projects’ electronic health record data in Teams.

This can help you to enable secure access to electronic health record data within the canvas of Microsoft Teams. Once there, clinical users can take advantage of the rich persistent chat, voice, video and other Microsoft services all on top of the security and compliance enabled features of Microsoft 365.

This scenario can be delivered through partnerships between Microsoft and the leading interoperability partners we announce today, which include Infor Cloverleaf, Dapasoft, Datica, Kno2, and Redox. Visit our partner page to see more about their offerings.

Electronic health record data and Microsoft Teams

We are excited to work with these and other partners and customers with our private preview of this feature. If your healthcare customer wants to work with us on this solution, please reach out to your account team. Additionally, next week our Microsoft team will be at HIMSS19, the annual Health Information Management Systems Society conference. Visit us at Microsoft booth #2500.

We are also interested in engaging with partners who are building healthcare solutions outside of the scenarios we’ve identified above. Let us know what you’re building in the healthcare industry!
