Changes to the Microsoft 365 advanced eDiscovery create case API (beta)

Marshal Hagen

At Microsoft, we’re committed to bringing you the latest and greatest functionality in advanced eDiscovery. In July 2021, we announced a new type of case which increases the size and capabilities of Advanced eDiscovery – Large cases in Advanced eDiscovery – Microsoft 365 Compliance | Microsoft Docs. These large cases also provide a near-native view of Microsoft Teams conversations; for details, see Teams workflow in Advanced eDiscovery – Microsoft 365 Compliance | Microsoft Docs.

To take advantage of this functionality using the Microsoft Graph APIs, all new cases created using the Create case API will be large case types, rather than normal case types.

All other Microsoft Graph APIs will continue to work with normal cases. This change only affects the type of case that is created going forward.

This change will be available in your organization starting September 22 or shortly thereafter.
