October brought us a very special community call as we unveiled a new community offering from Canviz along with a walk through of a Power Apps Expense Application built with Oakdale (enabling full integrated with Microsoft Teams) by Reza Dorrani. The demos concluded with April Dunnam and Hugo Bernier walking us through an ENHANCED Power Apps SharePoint web part built by our very own community start and MVP Hugo Bernier!
Canviz Power Apps Charting Components
Todd Baginski (@toddbaginski) and Matt Schuessler (@mattschues) of Canviz have been working on Power Apps charting components for much of 2019 and have graciously decided to give them to the community. This component includes nine of the most commonly requested charting visuals (i.e. Scatter, solid gauge, Radar, Candlestick, funnel, and Gannt!).
Expense Tracking Power Platform Solution for Microsoft Teams
Reza Dorrani (@rezadorrani) walked through his expense report solution built leveraging Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents for Microsoft Teams with Project Oakdale. The solution also includes receipt scanning using Azure Cognitive Services. Project Oakdale is a built-in, low-code data platform for Microsoft Teams.
Power Apps Web Part
Hugo Bernier (@bernierh) and April Dunnam (@aprildunnam) walk through an enhanced SharePoint sample web part that shows how to embed a Power App that resizes, adapts to themes, and supports dynamic properties. It also resizes the app to fit the web part dimension. The sample demonstrates how to react to changing theme colors and section background colors and can pass theme colors to the embedded Power Apps application.
