Latest news from Microsoft SharePoint engineering around PnP CSOM Core extension, PnP PowerShell and on modernization tooling.   New version releases:  CSOM v16.1.19724.12000 and SharePoint Online Management Shell v16.1.19724.12000.  PnP PowerShell release is scheduled for Feb 7, previewing capability to transform a Microsoft Teams site into a Communications site and other new cmdlets. Modernization tooling release is scheduled for Feb 7th as well.  Looking forward – a new Transformation Framework capability – Taxonomy mapping is slated for release in March!

ACTION:  Delve Blogs are retired and will be removed in July, 2020 – use the scanner and page transformation to migrate now!

Three demos were delivered in this session.  1) Extracting values for your column and view formatting when building custom rendering experience – use “IndexOf” and “substring” operator to add icon + summary status text to list column entries.  2) Introduction to PnP Office 365 CLI GitHub Actions for SPFx solutions – automate GitHub actions using Office 365 CLI behind the scenes – view how to setup and run a workflow in GitHub, and 3) Latest upcoming capabilities in PnP provisioning engine and schema (Feb 2020) – a preview of functions in the new PnP schema v202002, slated for release next week.  The schema is used in PnP provisioning templates to automate provisioning of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and Azure AD.   SharePoint look book shows the provisioning capability in practice.  Q&A takes place in chat throughout the call.
