Finally, there is a new landing page for Microsoft 365 Patterns and Practices (PnP) – https://aka.ms/m365pnp and https://pnp.github.io Three developer focused demos are delivered in this call.  Q&A in chat throughout call.

Plan to attend the SharePoint Monthly community call on May 12th, 08:00am PDT (https://aka.ms/sp-call). The featured speaker – Sesha Mani (Microsoft) will focus on Securing your data in SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams with Sensitivity Labels.

Demos:

  1. React Yammer Praise web part – For orgs that use Yammer, this web part allows users to Praise colleagues from a Teams tab or Sharepoint page. In the web part, you can search for people, add a message, select a Yammer Group, select a praise representation icon and preview the post in Yammer. The web part uses the Yammer REST API SPFx web part, React hooks, SPFx people picker control, and gets tokens for authenticating to M365 resources from Azure AD.
  2. Jump to Folder Application Customizer extension – Does your customer love folders? People and processes are often aligned to folders. This extension was created both to showcase a customer solution for finding folders and also to demonstrate how SPFx reusable controls can be leveraged to quickly create an extension or web part to address a customer need. This “React Jump to folder extension” sample, available in the PnP SPFx extension samples gallery, can be deployed to every document library. The extension uses PnPjs to quickly render a very easy to drill into Folder Filter panel. The panel renders within seconds upon selecting the “Jump to Folder” button in the top nav.
  3. Modern Content by Query Web Part with Dynamic Data support – The Modern React Content Query web part was recently updated. Updated to SPFx 1.10, the web part and handlebars template are built as you select fields in the Property Pane and there is a new capability – Dynamic Data Support (DDS), the focus of this demo. DDS allows the web part to be configured to provide data dynamically to an external – your custom SPFx web part (data consumer). This data sharing is accomplished by binding the two web parts and utilizing Dynamic Data functionality of SPFx.
