SharePoint Framework Special Interest Group (SIG) bi-weekly community call recording from January 2nd is now available from the SharePoint Development YouTube channel at http://aka.ms/spdev-videos.
Call summary:
Topics covered: Updates on SharePoint Framework from Microsoft SharePoint engineering, latest on PnPjs Client Libraries, Office 365 CLI, SPFx Reusable Controls, and on the PnP Yeoman Generator. Highlighted: Final validation of SPFx v1.10 before release next week, PnPjs v2 documentation has been updated – http://aka.ms/pnpjs and a new version 2.4.0 PnP Office 365 CLI has been released.
Three very useful demos were delivered during this session: 1) Getting started on consuming community GitHub sample solutions a step-by-step on how to consume PnP SPFx web parts, extensions and other sample solutions. Starting with setting up the requisite developer environment and then accessing sample solutions by SPFx version, 2) Using Project Online REST APIs with SharePoint Framework – the power of using SPFx for Project Online REST API access for both extensability and development time savings and finally 3) Live demos of upcoming SharePoint Framework v1.10 features – a quick look at at three new SharePoint Framework v1.10 features – Teams (Personal apps), New extension – query suggestions (Search Query Modifier component) and Office add-ins for OWA (SharePoint web part visible in OWA).
Thank you PnP community members for your great work on controls, demos and documentation.
