Now that you've installed IoT Core on your device, you'll need to download the appropriate version of Visual Studio to write your first application.

Visual Studio Downloads

Download Visual Studio 2017

Note: If you want to use C++ for your projects, make sure to check the UWP C++ checkbox upon downloading.

Visual Studio allows developers to deploy and debug applications remotely. With the power of Windows IoT and Visual Studio, the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) can be used to write applications that run on all Windows devices in any languages.

If you're interested in developing IoT Core background applications, Arduino Wiring applications, or console applications, install the Windows IoT project templates from the Visual Studio Gallery. These templates provide starting points for these application types to speed up your development.
